Hello everyone...
I have a heavily loaded server, and it crashes every now and then, about once a day. I usually get no messages, but today I got this one in my syslog:
-----<syslog>----- Apr 26 12:10:53 scorpio kernel: kmem_free: Bad obj addr (objp=c4bcb860, name=buffer_head) Apr 26 12:10:53 scorpio kernel: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000 Apr 26 12:10:53 scorpio kernel: current->tss.cr3 = 00101000, %cr3 = 00101000 Apr 26 12:10:53 scorpio kernel: *pde = 00000000 -----</syslog>-----
And dmesg shows this:
-----<demsg>----- kmem_free: Bad obj addr (objp=c4bcb860, name=buffer_head) Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000000 current->tss.cr3 = 00101000, %cr3 = 00101000 *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0002 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010:[<c011d8dd>] EFLAGS: 00010286 eax: 0000003d ebx: c04ad740 ecx: 00000002 edx: cfc8a000 esi: c4bcb860 edi: c4bcb8c0 ebp: 00000286 esp: c000ff5c ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 Process kswapd (pid: 4, process nr: 4, stackpage=c000f000) Stack: c4bcb8c0 c02e56f0 c04ad2c0 c00986a0 00000018 00000216 c4b76000 ffffffff c0123555 c04ad740 c4bcb860 c4bcb860 c4bcb8c0 c0123e87 c4bcb860 c4bcb860 c02e56f0 00000001 000003fe c000e000 c01198f6 c02e56f0 00000002 00000006 Call Trace: [<c0123555>] [<c0123e87>] [<c01198f6>] [<c011e4bf>] [<c01ca6cd>] [<c011e567>] [<c010733f>] Code: c7 05 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 eb 12 8d 76 00 53 56 68 29 a5 -----</demsg>-----
I have no clue what may be wrong. Any hint what could cause this?
