SubjectDoes adjtimex cause the kernel to update the CMOS clock?
Does adjtimex cause the kernel to update the CMOS clock?

I've read in various places that it does, at 11
minute intervals. Is this true and can it be disabled?

I want the kernel to leave it alone so I can use
hwclock to adjust for its drift while using xntpd.
