i've changed this back to bytecode in the latest version (which Kurt is referring to), exactly due to such issues. (also we should be able to build a kernel even with older binutils, the new opcodes and the FX feature are not necesserily connected) I suspect i messed up delayed FPU state saving on SMP, investigating it.
