Subjectmore autorouting!
Friends - I have a question here that I'm afraid has to do with
ifconfig/autorouting in 2.2.2-ac2. I had just upgraded my ppp/firewall box
from RH 5.2 to linux 2.2.2 (installing all the suggested package and
upgrades). This box has about 7 or so ip aliases on it.

Previously, in 2.0.0, everything worked as expected; including data
coming FROM that box appearing to be coming from the IP of eth0. Now,
with 2.2.2-ac2, traffic leaving the box (etherwise)
appears to be coming from one of the IP aliases I set up.

When I see traffic coming from box this (not over the ppp connection
but over the ethernet) is seems to be coming from eth0:3. Why #3? I
don't have a clue. My routing table looks like:

Kernel IP routing table

ftp.foobar9.net * 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 eth0
ns.foobar9.net * 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 eth0
otaku.foobar9.n * 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 eth0

I don't know why it would choose eth0:3 as its source addy, but it
does. Does anyone have any suggestions? This is partially a cosmectic
issue, partially a "what addy do I block on my inside firewall" issue.

Thanx!

G'day!
