this is all fine (and i agree with the rest), but could you please quit bashing the RAID code?
$ cat /etc/raidtab # Sample RAID-1 configuration raiddev /dev/md0 raid-level 1 nr-raid-disks 2 chunk-size 4
device /dev/hda1 raid-disk 0 device /dev/hdb1 raid-disk 1
'mkraid /dev/md0', and there it goes the 2-disk mirror. Or maybe it's easier to get a degree in astrophysics than i thought? ;)
