<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">Linux 2.2.12 seems to be confused when you have masquerading enabled and change the netmask on one of the interfaces.</FONT>
</P>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I had netmask 255.255.255.0 on the eth0,</FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">masquerading was enabled and working from 192.168/16 on eth0 to eth1</FONT>
</P>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">Then I reconfigured eth0 to netmask 255.255.254.0, and suddenly masquerading no longer worked. No new connections were possible.</FONT></P>

<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">This behaviour was unexpected and I couldn't find it documented anywhere.</FONT>
