Using egcs-19991013, binutils-2.9.5.0.16: When booting, a dozen or so messages "VM: killing process modprobe" show up after init starts; the processing of the various scripts for runlevels works extremely slowly, while spamming that modprobe can't find modules.dep (obvious, hasn't been created yet). I don't know if the boot will complete at all, it seems to freeze after (trying to) load keytable.
