hmmm. I guess I figured a flawless UP Alpha kernel (with the current
default SMP=1) would be better than one that's totally broken when you
do a 'make mrproper;make;make;make boot'. :)

Those few simple header changes and additions get the alpha platform up
and working until the sync happens.
