Will poke that into the udma series that I have and send Andrew an update.

Alan, (opinion requested)

Given that I am pushing for bad drive checking also. I also now suggest
we consider a (device, drive) check. I have a special case with
VIA Apollo chipsets with only one Fujitsu drive size and firmware
revision error. This same drive works fine in UDMA on other chipsets.

This now begins the drive-chipset comparison nightmare........but
it opens the path for squeezing the buggy hardware combinations into
a compliance.

Everyone else NOTE:

VIA is a valid UDMA Chipset.
Fujitsu Drives are valid UDMA drives.

However one drive MPC3043AT plus VIA Apollo chipset fails.
^ revision "C"

MPB3043AT, revision "B" plus VIA Apollo chipset is success.

MPC3043AT should be valid in all other cases (BX and LX work).

Alan, is this something to consider??

Cheers,
Andre not Andrew
