Thanks. I'd already assembled this patch. You copied David S. Miller's
patch exactly, but did not address the fundamental problem -- that with
his patch 2.1.114 won't compile with gcc 2.7.2.x. With the patches
already posed (i.e. your summary) it compiles just fine with egcs.
