Well, it's some other form of IPC. But I like the concept of virtual
punched cards and tapes. If those virtual machines were implemented
today, it would be much the same, with files or some other virtual
devices, perhaps. It would be also interesting to extend it a little and
allow to open e.g. sockets between such VMs.

OK :-).

During the discussion I've found, that perhaps better name for what I'd
like to do is not "virtual machine" but rather "virtual kernel". It would
be portable (or I expect it to be). It has nothing to do with CPU, the
changes to kernel code should go mainly to architecture-independent part.

I will have to rethink it a little, just as with kernel-JVM. There are
some problems I have to solve, with things like resource sharing,
modules etc. When I find an interesting question, I won't hesitate to ask
:-).
