with 2.1.117 compiled as smp, the kernel can't detect the cpu compiled as up, it detects the cpu as cx586 (though cpuid = -1)
2.0.35 can't detect the cpu (i thought it has the complete cpu detection code)
anyway, the cpu always has cpu_family=4 should i compile it as a pentium or a 486? (in 2.1.x config 5x86 falls into the same category as pentium)
