Molnar, I did some mucking around with the SMP machine using 2.1.115 in an attempt to fix the "stuck" problem. I tried to disable sym I/O just before it was enabled, with a bit more success. However, the problem goes from "always" to "sometimes". What needs to be done is to the the chip into its "reset" condition, and I don't know how to do that.
