I noticed a section in the 116pre1 patch talking about readdir on HP/UX machines, but I haven't been able to test it (forced to go back to 2.0.35 on that machine so it can be used reliably). We've also (biggest problem) been noticing that there are either missing or added characters (nulls) in a lot of files (to various platforms (HP/UX, Solaris, etc, etc.)) (see attachment -- it's a diff snippet which shows the missing and additional characters. it's always in the pattern "add 2 nulls, remove 2 chars", and the offsets where the problems were (in another diff) was 0x1bfe7, 0x24fe7, 0x27fe7, 0x2cfe7 -- notice that the last 3 hex digits are the same in every case.) We've noticed this problem with all kernels from 2.1.108 through 2.1.116pre1. --==_Exmh_9944951840 Content-Type: text/plain ; name="diff_decomp"; charset=us-ascii Content-Description: diff_decomp Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="diff_decomp" MzcyMmMzNzIxCjwgQ2FzZUNvZGVUb05hbWUoIHN0YXhpX2RlZ3JfZ2RsX2Rlc2lnbl9oYW5k bGVfaXRlcl9jcmVhdGUsCSAic3RheGlfZGVzbWdyX2dkbF9kZXNpZ25faGFuZGxlX2l0ZXJf Y3JlYXRlIiApOwotLS0KPiBDYXNlQ29kZVRvTmFtZSggc3RheGlfZGVzbQAAZ3JfZ2RsX2Rl c2lnbl9oYW5kbGVfaXRlcl9jcmVhdGUsCSAic3RheGlfZGVzbWdyX2dkbF9kZXNpZ25faGFu ZGxlX2l0ZXJfY3JlYXRlIiApOwozNzY1YzM3NjQKPCBDYXNlQ29kZVRvTmFtZSggc3RheGlf ZGVzbWdyX2Rlc2lnbl9sb2FkX2d1aWRhbmNlX2ZpbGUsCSAic3RheGlfZGVzbWdyX2Rlc2ln bl9sb2FkX2d1aWRhbmNlX2ZpbGUiICk7Ci0tLQo+IENhc2VDb2RlVG9OYW1lKCBzdGF4aV9k ZXNtZ3JfZGVzaWduX2xvYWd1aWRhbmNlX2ZpbGUsCSAic3RheGlfZGVzbWdyX2Rlc2lnbl9s b2FkX2d1aWRhbmNlX2ZpbGUiICk7CjM4MTFjMzgxMAo8IENhc2VDb2RlVG9OYW1lKCBzdGF4 aV9jbXBtZ3JfZ2NsX2NvbXBhcmVfaGFuZGxlX3NldF9uYW1lLAkgInN0YXhpAABfY21wbWdy X2djbF9jb21wYXJlX2hhbmRsZV9zZXRfbmFtZSIgKTsKLS0tCj4gQ2FzZUNvZGVUb05hbWUo IHN0YXhpX2NtcG1ncl9nY2xfY29tcGFyZV9oYW5kbGVfc2V0X25hbWUsCSAic3RheGlfY21w bWdyX2djbF9jb21wYXJlX2hhbmRsZV9zZXRfbmFtZSIgKTsKMzg0NGMzODQzCjwgQ2FzZUNv ZGVUb05hbWUoIHN0YXhpX3NvX3lvdV9kb250X2hhdmVfdG9fd29ycnlfYWJvdXRfY29tbWFz LAkgInN0YXhpX3NvX3lvdV9kb250X2hhdmVfdG9fd29ycnlfYWJvdXRfY29tbWFzIiApClwg Tm8gbmV3bGluZSBhdCBlbmQgb2YgZmlsZQotLS0KPiBDYXNlQ29kZVRvTmFtZSggc3RheGlf c29feW91X2RvbnRfaGF2ZV90b193b3JyeV9hYm91dF9jb21tYXMsCSAic3RheGlfc29feW91 X2RvbnRfaGF2ZV90b193b3JyeV9hYm91dF9jb21tYXMiICk7Cg== --==_Exmh_9944951840 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii -- Randomly Generated Tagline: Computer programmers wanted.
