I find it amazing how many people are convinced this is a dig at Linux.
Exhibit A: Windows NT. (My vote for most probable reason) Exhibit B: SCO, which has been doing this for two years already.
This is a non-issue as far as Linux is concerned: what it will attract is the folks who wouldn't consider Linux anyway (whether you agree with their reasons or not is beside the point).
