I had that too, but only if I do a warm reset. If I switch off/on the machine it runs nice. I even got the vesafb 1600x1200 running now.

I used 2.1.109 + aic7xxx 5.1.0pre5 before which was a good combination too. But 2.1.111 is much better on memory, before I was using swap all the time, now I can use netscape without touching swap.
