On the Intel platform, there's only vesafb at the moment.

XF68_FBDev has been in the standard XFree86 sources since 3.1, IIRC. It's just not compiled by default on Intel.

It was not really meant for Intel in the first place. Other architectures had graphical consoles since ages.
