Hi,
Here is the latest and greatest Jumbo patch against 2.0.35, now revision 5.
Changes from rev -4:
- Fixed Intel Pentium kernel boot freeze. - Much improved Intel CPU detection and reporting (doesn't detect those Xeon thingys, though; if Intel will send me one I'll work on it, promised). - Benoit Poulot-Cazajous' neat K6 bug detection code was back-ported from kernel 2.1.x by Rob Dale. Thanks, Rob :-) - Some code cleanup.
As the code stands now, it's the most complete x86 CPU detection code available on _any_ OS kernel. Definitely an attractive "beauty wart".
(The Intel code still needs some testing, though).
Also, I won't be posting the patch to the list anymore. Please look for it at the URL: http://www.altern.org/andrebalsa/linux/Jumbo-2.0.35-5.patch.gz
