Kernel 2.0.105? Wow. I can see why Linus wanted to stop at .33 and ^^^ concentrate effort on the 2.1.x series...
Seriously... Check the linux-kernel archives. This question has been discussed ad naseum before; I didn't archive the messages nor do I remember exactly what they said, except for the parts I've repeated here. Shutdow, init, and the kernel all have to cooperate. The "-o" flag replaces "-h". Look in /etc/rc.d/rc.6 for the script that controls shutdown and make sure that "-o" is passed to the appropriate program. Shutdown invokes 'telinit' which causes the 'init' program to run a series of scripts. It's the last step in the chain that needs to be correct.
Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm in New Jersey at the moment, several States away from my linux box, on a extremely flaky 'net connection, and in theatre-mode as opposed to kernel-hacking-mode. Hopefully others on the list can take the ball from here. --Scott [demonstrating his ignorance. Heck, if this were my box I'd RTFM and look up the answer.
