No, the cp-bug crash (not more usable) with the default settings of the
two sysctl with your patch applyed. If I use the two sysctl as you
suggested I am able to kill `cp' pressing C^c.

BTW, I never seen fork out of memory with the stock kernel (but I
shutdown my machine once a day at least...).
