SubjectRe: 2.0.34 Kernel panics / Problems
Date
Hi,

I'm running 2.0.34 on more than 15 servers now. Those strange
problems I had with 2.0.33 seem to be gone, no more lockups :). Except
for two servers :(. One did an Oops a couple of days ago (I didn't
write it down), the other one (my modem server) crashes about two, three
times a month.

I gotta buy a hw-watchdog now to work around this. :-(

A couple of month ago (running 2.0.33) I swapped the whole hardware of the
modem server three times (except the Stallion card), with no success.

I've appended some of the Oopses I got yesterday.

Is there anyone having similar problems with 2.0.34?

The system:

o Intel Pentium, 32MB, IDE
o SMC-Ultra
o Stallion EasyIO (PCI) on IRQ10 with v544
Driver (tried all v5xx versions, previous versions don't work
with my hardware)
o 16 Modems
o Quite heavily loaded with up to 16 simultaneous PPP conns

It seems to be triggered by the PPP stuff (possibly by the Stallion
driver?), it seems that the server crashes when a PPP connection goes down
or the TTY is closed. I noticed that a couple of times now. On my
other server there's no async involved.

Please let me know if you need more info...

pm
