Amen. I learned that the absolute, irrevocable first rule of security was physical security. Ignoring such things as default passwords, boot parameters, and the ilk, a sufficiently motivated industrious person could always grab the hard drive.
Anyway, wasn't there a patch posted about six months ago or so that enabled passwords on SysRQ ?
