Subject2.1.103: loop broken ?
Date
From

Whenever I try to mount a loop filesystem, the kernel hangs (no oops).
This is on a vanilla 2.1.103 kernel + cli/sti fixes for drivers/block/md.c running in SMP mode on a SMP machine (2 PPro-166).

The loop fs is located on an ext2 raid0 fs.

I got the following info with the magic sysrq key:

Status:
EIP 0010:[<c0109378>] (somewhere in cpu_idle)
EFLAGS: 246
EAX: 0000001b EBX: 00000f00 ECX: c0106000 EDX: 00000001
ESI: c0107fe0 EDI: 00000000 EBP: 000000a0 DS: 0018 ES: 0018

Mount task:
task #: 6 R PC=00000002 stack:0 pid:43
^^^^^^^^-> this looks bad

2.1.102 shows the same problem.

Phil.
