By then, M$ will have achieved its goal of all new computers having no ISA slots...... thatsone thing that I like them to push, not that I want a computer without ISA (companies will still make ISA MB's for backward compatibility), but that will encourage everyone to make more PCI devices, such as modems and sound, which will eventually mean the ability to share IRQ's, faster I/O access (even the minute difference in the bus MHz means less CPU waiting for I/O)....... so PnP won't be a problem. But if it's a small feature, it could be developed in 2.3 and stuck in around 2.2.15 or something..... it's not like that hasn't been done before.
