I am basically a lurker on this list. I run some of the later *stable*
kernels just to test.

I have been running 2.0.33 stably without any problems.

With 2.0.34 pre8 and pre11b I reliably get lockups (no errors no logs,
nada just locked tight) when I backup to tape. So I don't have and error
messages to pass on.

hardware:

586 MMX 233 MZ
buslogic flashpoint scsi controller
2 scsi hard drives
seagate scsi tape drive
64 MB ram
toshiba scsi cd rom

serial ports, xwindows and parallel port.

I can send the rest of the config.

I just thought I should post this. let me know if i can do some testing
but the problems seems to alwasy be with access to the tape drive.

this is rock solid on 2.0.33 with no patches.
