I have more information on the boot hang. The boot sequence proceeds normally until where the SCSI initialzation should be. Then it hangs. Some time later, longer than 5 minutes but shorter than a half-hour, i get the following message on the screen:
wait_on_irq, CPU0 irq: 1[0 1] bh: 0[0 0] <[c019abee]> <[c0194f09]> <[c0198d8b]> <[c01361f8]> <[c0109e9c]> <[c0124eec]>
Could this be a result of PCI device re-ordering/re-assigning?
Hardware: Tyan Tomcat IV D, w/ twin P200's and 128MB memory 512K cache. BT930 SCSI with 4 disks, tape, and CDROM. ATI Mach64 PCI Video 3c595 PCI NIC SB16 sound card. (seldom used) 3c509b ISA NIC - driver modularized.
509b driver is the only module on this machine. (No kmod, no kerneld. No support for either in kernel.) All else is built in - as it should be...
Hope this helps.
