SubjectRe: 2.1.95 and PPP errors?
On Monday, Apr 13, Gary Lawrence Murphy (garym@maya.dyn.ml.org) spake thusly:

Are you sure those are genuine errors and not just a parsing error of
your ifconfig? ifconfig that I got here parses the file /proc/net/dev,
and for my 2.1.9? kernel does it incorrectly - there are 2 new fields
in /proc/net/dev (compress & multicast) which confuse it, so that the
'packets' count gets into 'TX errors'. If this is the case, I could
mail you a hacked ifconfig.c (I am not sure where its latest version
is - maybe it's been fixed already).
