If you have a clean 2.1.91, then you can use
http://www.cs.kuleuven.ac.be/~geert/bin/linus-2.1.91-vger-19980401.diff.gz
I included the CVS administrative files, so after that you can use CVS to update the tree. You may have to play a bit with sed to make it work, since I don't use the anonymous CVS feature at vger.
