Something still not right:
TCPv4 bad checksum from 130.155.198.47:03ff to 130.155.191.26:03fd, len=32/32/52 TCPv4 bad checksum from 130.155.198.47:03ff to 130.155.191.26:03fd, len=32/32/52 TCPv4 bad checksum from 130.155.198.47:0448 to 130.155.191.26:1770, len=32/32/52 TCPv4 bad checksum from 130.155.198.47:0201 to 130.155.191.26:03ff, len=20/20/4
The two machines in question are running 2.1.91-pre1 SMP. One is on a departmental LAN (with lots of hubs, switches and a FDDI backbone), the other is on a home LAN. The two LANs are connected via CSLIP (33.6 kBaud). If it happens again I'll try to get a tcpdump.

Richard....
