One more time: Whatever problem your net-tools has, it does _not_ cause
dropped packets. The only thing that may be wrong is that ifconfig _thinks_
you are getting dropped packets. You can safely ignore it and no harm will
occur.

If you look at /proc/net/dev by hand you can see what's really happening.
