Subject2.1.90-pre3 works much better than pre2.
Hi, I've just installed 2.1.90-pre3 and it works much better than the
pre2. Specifically memory seems much less tight, so my computer is no
longer permenantly champing at the hard disk. Also, interactive
response seems quicker in general. However, the most important thing
was that pre2 was flakey... it would sometimes hang during a reboot (at
the "sending all processes SIGTERM" message). Other times it would get
stuck, and complain "cannot load command interpreter" whenever I did
CTRL-ALT-DEL. When I did SAK, it just said "SAK" and didn't do
anything.
However, I haven't had any problems with pre3 yet, perhaps because its
managing memory better and not taking as much of a beating.
