that's a good idea, but for my pair o' pennies, i'd like to say that i
would NOT like the list to be moderated. (i can hardly wait to be bashed
for saying..) the BUGTRAQ list is severely moderated, and i've heard
firsthand reports of several people saying their posts of legitimate bugs
did not reach the list either AT ALL, or UNTIL the maintainer of the
software had fixed it. not that this applies to linux-kernel, but i feel
that the reasons against moderation outweigh the reasons for it. about
some of my own experiences, several of my bug reports to the Gimp
developer list never made came through. i was removed from the Gnome-GUI
mailing list once for proposing a less Motif and more Qt-like interface.
the best idea i've seen was to have a filter to check for LOUD!! text and
words like "marketing". hopefully the list owners are hearing us, i'd
really like to see that implemented.
