Why does everyone ask this when I report samba problems? :) Yes, of course I have, otherwise how could I mount at all? (and no, there is no version confusion).
I just saw problems with some images I copied using smbclient, they contain stripes of black (zeros?, and since they are bmp I didn't notice anything wrong when sending them through a bmp2gif filter).
This indicates some kind of communications problem, and perhaps not a smbfs specific problem. But I always get the same error message with smbfs, the bmps could be copied again and then they were not corrupted. (I copied a large number using mget)
I have had no problems using samba/smbfs with any other directory than this, and I'm sure I would have noticed this frequent random errors before.
