I presume the SCSI bus is properly terminated in BOTH ends, but not in the middle.....
It looks like the Conner 'told' the Adaptec that it could run Sync/Disconnect and it can't. This is a common problem with Conners.
In the Adptec BIOS menu, turn OFF disconnect for this drive and see if it fixes it. If not, turn OFF synchronous negotiation.
