I have a verified report that the VIA chipset in any mode but PIO does a hard lock with this drive revision only.
The MPB3043AT id okay but MPC3043AT dies hard. ^B revision ^C revision
Only 4.3Gig drives with the C revision of the firmware were quirky. This is the last piece of data that I had collected in the past. Note that even the "W"-word OS chokes once DMA of any level is enabled.
