The reason that the "mca-pentium" flag hasn't been merged is because I was not sure that it was the right thing to do. I had no Pentium MCA box to try on, so I didn't know whether it was a simple 'hlt' error or not.
Always setting the "mca-pentium" option for MCA Pentiums is stupid, however, because some PS/2's work properly without this option if I'm not all wrong.

Well, it that works, there's no reason whatsoever for an mca-pentium flag. If it doesn't work, something weird's going on.
