For what it's worth, the latest NTP test version I (4.0.90a) works with
kernel 2.1.130, glibc 2.1.103, egcs 1.1.1-pre out of the box; the only
changes I made was to remove the -Wconversion CPP flag from configure{,.in}
and to install ntpd in /usr/sbin where it belongs.
