I'm getting these errors with 2.0.35 kernels on HEAVY load webservers when
primary nameservice goes away. (For some reason, secondary nameservice is
never attempted.) I traced it to fs/binfmt_elf.c but couldn't really make
out what was happening that causes this. The result is usually similar to
the result described below: apache spawns up to its limit in processes,
the kernel hits the FD limit, and the machine is worthless until reboot.
(I've never tried bringing back the nameserver while the machine is in
this state; I usually end up rebooting all affecting machines at once.)

I'd be extremely interested, as well, in hearing where this may be coming
from.
