SubjectLinux for SPARC - Fujitsu Teamserver ES - Is it possible?
Date
Hi all,

We have a Fujitsu Teamserver ES (Sparc) here, which currently
identifies as follows:

(telnetting in)

Unix(r) System V Release 4.2MP (tutartis)

The system's name is tutartis.
DRS/NX 6000 SVR4 Version 7MPlus Level 9 Increment 8
tutartis tcptty/01 Login:

<cut>

And command line stuff:

$ uname -a
UNIX_SV tutartis 4.2MP 7MPlus.9.8 DRS 6000 sparc

As the machine is being made available soon, I am considering installing
Linux upon it. However, I have been informed that it is using custom
firmware which might cause problems.

Has anyone had any experience with such servers, and the best way of
proceeding?

Tris.
