I have an Opti 82C931 card (mad16 driver) and I can't say that I recognize the problem.

I have a few more entries, some borrowed from Documentation/sound/Opti, char-major-14 added to make the module autoload when /dev/audio was used.

It should be possible to get it configured using isapnp. Here are some pages I used to get isapnp going with this card:
http://www.physics.mun.ca/~jwoodfd/opti931.html http://www.sequel.demon.co.uk/opti.html
They contain links to the latest versions of isapnp and some example conf files. I am using a modified version of one of those, if you want it just ask.
