Is there any plans on allowing swap to take place over a NFS filesystem again? I believe 1.2.x had this ability. I am aware of a patch that lets you do this with some 2.0.x and 2.1.x kernels. But unfortunatly, the last time I tried the NFS-Swap patch it didn't apply cleanly to the latest stable kernels.
While in general, it is probably very evil to try and swap over the network, this ability actually makes more sense for diskless boxen. Whats worse: slow performance or no performance at all due to running out of memory? IMHO, the latter is worse.
