I'm not trying to start another flamewar, but you must realise that by that argument (egcs not being able to compile linux drivers due to incorrect inline asm, you say that GCC understand incorrect inline asm! I don't know if that's correct or that it's egcs that doesn't understand correct asm, but if it's the former I think the GCC dev team would be pleased to know that you found a bug!! ;-)
