This is the latest update for via82c586 chipset plus final fix for ide-mod with ide-dma support. The last report from (maintainer of via82c586.c) Michel Aubry states that this version if functional and tested. The TX PRO III VIA based boards are now supported with setting splitfifo parameters passed for independent channel configuration.
Read the contents of the patch for instructions first or the updated "via82c586.c" file.
Please report back if this fixes or fails.......
Lastly, I am attempting to file Mark's fingers as the future IDE-maintainer.

There may be a physical limit for disk size and reporting in the kernel. This potentally breaks my pair of Quantum Eclipse 10.2G drives that have 19885,16,63 native reporting and may be related to LBA limits in ide-disk.c. I am still investigating this puzzle.

I doubt that the drive is bad, but the current driver was limited to VIA MVP-3 only.
