Sorry, but IMVHO any ICE should be fixed, at least to give a sensible
message. Regardless of standardly-correct or screwed up source.

His "ICE" message came from the kernel, because the kernel nearly
crashed for one reason or another. A bug in the kernel is not a bug I
expect the EGCS people to work on.
