HJ,

I applied your patch, and here are the results. The sequence of events
is:

- Zero /var/lib/nfs/rmtab and /var/lib/nfs/xtab
- Start knfsd subsystem using your init script
- Start gdb and attach per instructions
- Verify that 'showmount -e' works properly on the server
- Mount cy:/usr/src from the Alpha machine (works properly)
- Try running 'showmount -e' on the server (blows up):

-------------------------------------------------------

Script started on Mon Oct 12 07:09:36 1998

(root@cy) /usr/src/net/nfs/knfsd-981010/utils/mountd : kshowmount -e

(before mounting from Alpha):

Export list for cy:
/ *.steve.net,*.fast.net
/usr/src *.steve.net,*.fast.net

(Alpha mounts server)

(root@cy) /usr/src/net/nfs/knfsd-981010/utils/mountd : gdb mountd

I hope this helps track down the problem.
