You can't arrange a test for _all_ possible combinations of options (Hmm, would be interesting to count if all combinations are even likely to be used by Linux's user-base), but you can pretty much test compilation of every bit of standard code at once, especially as modules, since I can't think of any exclusive options in the Kernel. What this really asks for is a "pre-patch distribution list", preferably with PGP signatures, that people could wire their .procmail to take patches off, apply and compile automatically, reporting possible problems to a sorting site where duplicates are somehow addressed (This isn't as simple as it sounds!) and forwarded.
