I recently upgraded my Mother board, from p100 SIS chip set to a P233MMX with a SIS chip set. also bought 64MB of ram.
the rest of the hardware is unchanged and the configuration has been stable for months (at least since 2.0.30).
Since the upgrade, the machine will not stay up more than 1 hours. It seems to vary at random, sometimes 1-2 minutes and sometimes an hour. IT just STOPS. If I am typing, it will stop responding. if nothing is happening, and I come back, it will be locked.
I can't ping the machine, switch consoles or anything. There is no logging of what happened, there are no messages on the console. The only thing to do is to hit the reset switch.
I am really at a loss to try and debug this problem. I have tried 6 different memory chips, but no go.
I have tried kernel 2.0.33 and 2.0.30. (The only two working kernels on my machine) it doesn't matter. I have recompiled with most everything off.
Can someone give me an idea of where to start debugging this problem.
thanks
bob
