SubjectRe: missing aliased interfaces in /proc/net/dev
Hi,

How ? ipfwadm (resp /proc/net/ip_*) does not tell me what aliased
interfaces are in use, if i don't know.

And to collect statistics via ipfwadm rules needs priviledges not
avail to any userspace program, but peviously by reading /proc files
this was possible.

My initial point was: The information about aliased interfaces in use
is no longer present in the /proc filesystem (esp. /proc/net/dev).

Well, now i learned you and Alexey are both telling me that this will
not change back, right ?

No big problem, i can live with the removal, but i like to know if it
is final.

(Sorry, to lengthen this thread),

Erik
