IBM has made PC Servers as well as desktops with an MCA bus bridged to a PCI bus. I've never actually tried to run Linux on one of them simply because the one I have access to, an IBM PC Server 520 PCI/MCA, has a RAID adapter for which, I believe, there is no Linux driver available.
I'll attempt to boot a Linux kernel from floppy on it, just for fun.
