Ppl,

these is probably asked a zillion times, but after reading the news groups
and the mailing list I still could not find an answer.

when compiling a 2.1.** kernel (29 or 47) I get the following error message

arch/i386/mm/mm.o: In function `searc_exception_table':
arch/i386/mm/mm.o(.text+0xceb): undefined reference to `__start___ex_table'
arch/i386/mm/mm.o(.text+0xcf0): undefined reference to `__start___ex_table'
arch/i386/mm/mm.o(.text+0xce6): undefined reference to `__start___ex_table'

All my utilities and libraries and compiler are uptodate according to the
list in linux/Documentation/Changes.

Can anybody please tell me what is going on here
